On that day

On that day, it was too much to bear. My heart wasn't yet healed from the last time it broke, making it weak.
On that day, my head was too full of stories written by me. Too many tales told to be able to read anything not written by myself.
On that day, my lips were too dry, my throat was too sore. Winter had passed, but it had left its mark.
It was too much to bear.
My body was not there
My heart wasn't cured, my head was still full
Of stories
My breath could barely escape my body into the outside world,
Let alone my words.
On that day,
It was too much to bear.
All I could do
Was stare.
Straight into the crowd, my eyes filled with the last rain drops of winter,
Not daring to flow like rivers in case next winter brings with it no rain.
The crowd wouldn't stare back.
It couldn't
I was too much.
On that day, I was too much to bear.

Dare To Leave

I can see you.
The door might
Be closed,
But my eyes,
My eyes,
Are wide open.
Knock on the door
Or don't,
It doesn't make
A difference,
But dare to enter.
Dare to stare me
Straight in the eye
For the last time.
When you're done staring,
Walk back through the door.
Close it behind you,
Or don't,
It doesn't make a difference.
But dare to leave
And never come back.
